Parks are a great location for family photos because they’re naturally relaxing, especially for kids who can run around in between shots. Henpeck Park Family Photography.

Roberta has such a gorgeous family and they were an absolute joy to work with.

People often ask if they’re allowed to do different groupings. You definitely are – the session belongs to you and you can choose any combinations you’d like. Extended family sessions are a great time to photograph different groups in your family. Multigenerational photos are the best.

Pulling aside your family for a quick portrait is also a great idea when you’re already dressed for the occasion, and in one place, something that for sure happens less frequently as your kids get older.

And of course the grandparents/grandkids photo is always popular. The youngest was quite the ham for this one! He was a huge fan of the oinky pig.

Thank you so much Roberta for sharing your beautiful family with me! I hope you all have an amazing winter.

Spencerport Professional Family Photography ~ Julie & Kevin https://debralwallace.com/spencerport-professional-family-photography-julie-kevin/ Mon, 12 Feb 2018 03:40:21 +0000 http://debralwallace.com/?p=6029 Spencerport Professional Family Photography ~ Julie & Kevin

If you ever find yourself with kids between the ages of 5-10, it is the perfect time to snag some family photos.

Not that there’s a bad age to have a session – there definitely isn’t. But at these ages kids are still playful and happy to pose for a few photos in exchange for some sugar.  It’s also a strategic time to capture them as children before they become teenagers and everything turns upside down.

Believe it or not, this session happened on a warm December day. It’s easy to think that December is too late for family photos, but you can even go outside in the winter and get excellent results.

They opted for the Spencerport Canal, which is always an excellent choice.  What you’re mostly looking for in a session location is variety.  Water, bridges, and paths definitely provide that.  Click here to learn more about how to choose a great location for your family photos.

Playful images don’t fit with every family’s personality, but it’s a great time when they
do.

And if you hit the timing just right, you can get some golden light action at sunset.

Thank you so much Kevin and Julie for sharing your family with me. It was an absolute joy to work with you.

Spencerport NY Senior Photos ~ Bridget https://debralwallace.com/spencerport-ny-senior-photos-bridget/ Wed, 15 Mar 2017 02:34:29 +0000 http://debralwallace.com/?p=4863 Spencerport NY Senior Photos ~ Bridget

Bridget’s senior photo session snuggled up right next to the yearbook deadline. Sometimes this is worrisome for parents, but it’s not on issue on this end. It’s easy to offer a quick turn around when you don’t spend a lot of time editing. Why, you ask? Because there’s this magical thing called off camera lighting that guarantees beautiful light anywhere at any time. It’s makes processing a breeze.

Bridget isn’t a horse person but decided that she wanted horse themed senior photos.  Themed photo sessions are a great way to make your photos stand out. Her mom contacted a horse owner and asked if we could take photos there. The owner was incredibly accommodating to a bunch of strangers. It’s a good lesson in thinking outside the box!!!

The property had a peaceful pond lined with mature willow tress that drooped down to touch the water along with a barn and some fences. An ideal location is one like this – with a number of different backgrounds to choose from.

Bridget also brought her boyfriend along. Including friends, family and significant others is encouraged. There’s no extra charge for additional people or clothing changes – the session belongs to you and you can use it however you like!

After the horse farm, we headed to the Spencerport section of the Canal for some more traditional senior photos.  The canal is a great spot because of the water and gazebo, but keeping cars out of the images is a little tricky!

Choosing a location that has different features such as water and architecture is the hallmark of a great location. To learn more about how to choose a location, click here.

Thank you so much Bridget for choosing me as your senior portrait photographer. I wish you the best of luck in your upcoming adventures!
