Highland Park Professional Family Photos
Naomi and I met serendipitously at a summer home school swimming event and somehow got onto the topic of organic gardening. She and Tracy have 20 years of experience working the soil behind their home and also introduced me to winter gardening (who knew!). However during our initial giant garden instillation project, my husband may have secretly wished Naomi and I hadn’t met. No worries though, he’ll change his tune once the (organic!) red peppers are ripe next summer!
I was pleasantly surprised when Naomi contacted me to photograph their family, since we never once talked about photography. The weather was entirely questionable with ominous clouds and heavy rain threatening. It was also getting dark, which is where extra lighting and a fancy camera come in. I wasn’t sure what the mood would be, but these guys were like a walking group hug. I kind of wanted to go home with them.
Naomi pointed out that she and Tracy have matching hair. They also both have professions that you would never guess in a million years.
The impetus for the photos was Jesse becoming a teenager. It is a bittersweet thing for sure.
I assumed Lilah was about four years older than Jesse and almost fell over when I learned she was closer in age to me. She’s got some pretty fantastic age-resistant genes going on!
And they love each other.
Thank you so very much Tracy and Naomi for sharing your wisdom, garden and home with me. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to spend some time with your family!
