When I got into newborn photography I envisioned that my newborns would have the most extensive modeling portfolio in the country. Instead, I’ve found that after giving birth I tend to be pretty disinterested in my camera and very interested in my pillow. A friend recently forwarded me this blog post: How to Post Partum Like a Boss and I realized that this is a lesson I’ve been learning over my past few babies.
In any case, these images were taken in between a nap and all hell breaking loose. They aren’t quite the portfolio worthy images I try to aim for, but they are definitely our life. Here is Nathan, 11 days old.
In a rare moment, I handed my husband the camera and he actually photographed me (and the images were in focus!!!). Of course, I hadn’t showered yet and then the kids started calling, but at least Nathan has some record of us together.
A few days earlier he seemed pretty sound asleep and I took these images.
Then my two year old wanted to try and play with him.
Then our four year old needed a turn.
My daughter, who is 9, is begging for a photo shoot with Nathan which is currently planned for Saturday. I’m hoping to get a picture of all of them together. Wish me luck!
