Choosing a location for your portraits is an important part of planning your session. \u00a0Below are some ideas and some things to consider.<\/div>\n

1. \u00a0The location is beautiful<\/b>. \u00a0Most people choose locations just because they appreciate the beauty. \u00a0Some favorite locations of mine are:<\/p>\n

Tinker Nature Park in Henrietta<\/a><\/div>\n
Charlotte Beach<\/div>\n
Black Creek Park in Chili<\/a>
\nGeorge Eastman Gardens<\/a><\/div>\n
\n

Mendon Ponds<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

And even though I wouldn’t expect my Rochester families to hike down to Ithaca for portraits, these are worth looking at for inspiration. \u00a0If you live in Ithaca, choosing a location is a breeze since it’s hard to go wrong surrounded by waterfalls!<\/div>\n

2. \u00a0Choose a location that’s meaningful to you.<\/b>\u00a0 Robert and Kara chose the Eastman Gardens<\/a> because it’s close to their home and they go there frequently. \u00a0Eastman Gardens happen to be gorgeous, but you can also choose a location based solely on its meaningfulness.<\/div>\n

3. \u00a0Your house, because it’s practical (and usually beautiful too).<\/b> \u00a0Your house is often a perfect spot for portraits – especially if the weather is questionable.<\/div>\n
