Tracy previously gifted a newborn session to her sister Lindsey in the fall and I had the privilege of meeting my birthday buddy Harlon. And even though she told me this, I completely did not put two and two together that she works with Betsy, Tj’s mom.

I had no idea that they were waiting to adopt and she sent me an email a few weeks ago saying that they’d just about given up when they got a call that a baby had been born that morning and that they were selected to be his parents.

Tracy wrote that she had never known joy like this.

Tracy and Joe looked through the newborn portrait guide and picked out some of their favorite images. We did our best to replicate them Adam-style.

Adam was not a huge fan of being posed, which Tracy was okay with, so we opted for some of the more simple imagery.

And he even gave us a little smile.

Tracy said she never wanted to put him down so we got to play with her Moby wrap – one of those things I discovered later in parenting and am not sure how I survived without it. I’ll have to check in and see if she’s a Moby ninja by now.

I learned last year some time that new parents love photos of their newborns with their eyes open, which is supposed to be against the newborn photography rules. This lady was right though. Eyes open pictures rank in everyone’s top 10 every time.

We also caught some footage of this sweet baby. Prepare to say, “Awwww!”
